    Process & Quality Assurance
Of utmost importance to all DC directors, panelists and appraisers is the implementation of procedures and methodologies designed to produce the best 'collective' valuation and rating service available to the market.

Achieving a consistent, top-quality appraisal time and again will be the result of dedication to process and quality assurance on all levels.

According to IEEE, quality assurance is defined as "a planned and systematic pattern of all actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that an item or product conforms to established technical requirements."

In regards to S&F Reports, quality assurance is provided through our vast documentation - which outlines, step-by-step, the procedures behind all aspects of the process.

Quality is further amplified by a redundant system whereby each appraisal is the resullt of multiple sources of input and supervision. Each appraisal is a 'summary' of various expert valuations - eliminating potential for fraud.

Quality assurance is also provided for in the basic selection procedures for new appraisers - each must pass eligibility requirements, unanimous Panel Referendum approval and Frank Schilling review and analysis. Again, redundant but designed to provide safeguards. In other words, only the finest individuals get certified and perform valuations.

Ultimately, all appraisers are required to adhere to principles and ethics as described by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) - these guidelines serve as fundamental requirements and practices of all S&F Appraisers.

Process assurance looks at the process used to create that final product. Was the development effort planned? Were the plans followed, or just put on the shelf and ignored? Does the development process meet any required standards? Are best practices used to develop the product? In process assurance, QA provides management with objective feedback regarding compliance to approved plans, procedures, standards, and analyses.

For DC, process assurance is integral to our success as a valuation service. Our process is designed to produce the best possible overview and valuation, thus any deviation from our documented procedures is damaging to the service quality and promise. QA is handled by the COO and the CFO with additional supervision from the Project Manager.
