    A Word on a 'Word'
    Defining the Term 'Certified'

Much has been made over our use of the word 'certified ' in multiple aspects, in multiple areas of our system and service and company.

First off, we can assure all that great care was taken in the selection of terms and methodologies and site content - we are making every effort to create a report that is 'compliant', thus we must take a microscope to every corner, inspect every level.

The Random House Dictionary defines 'certify' in the following light:

    1. to attest as certain; give reliable information of; confirm: He certified the truth of his claim.
    2. to testify to or vouch for in writing: The medical examiner will certify his findings to the court.
    3. to guarantee; endorse reliably: to certify a document with an official seal.
    4. to guarantee (a check) by writing on its face that the account against which it is drawn has sufficient funds to pay it.
    5. to award a certificate to (a person) attesting to the completion of a course of study or the passing of a qualifying examination.

Now in the case of DomainConsultant and the S&F Report, number three and five are relevant and justifiable.

In the first case, certification refers to the report itself - which must pass through a twenty-plus step process and seven officials before is it 'certified' an 'official report' with an 'official seal.'

In regards to number five, this refers to 'appraiser certification' by Frank Schilling as each propspective candidate must 'pass a qualifying examination' before they are approved. This selection procedural involves a four (4) step process that concludes with denial or certification (as defined in the dictionary).

Thus only after it passing through stringent methodologies and procedures designed to produce balance and due-diligence, is anything related to DomainConsultant annointed the adjective.

'Certifiied' is a vital term in our firm as it stands for quality assurance and authoritative oversight, 'ethics' and 'due process', it is a badge of honor we wear with stringent but significant pride.
